DoSE represents State at 4th G20 EdWG in Pune

Nagaland represented by Department of School Education (DoSE) attended the National Conference for Foundational Literacy & Numeracy as part of 4th G20 Education Working Group (EdWG) meeting held under the theme ‘Creating the Base for Lifelong Learning” from June 17 to 18 Savitribai Phule, Pune University.
The event was held under the aegis of Ministry of Education. The conference was part of EdWG Meeting, which will continue till June 22.
A press release by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland informed that DoSE team was led by commissioner and secretary School Education and SCERT, Kevileno Angami and State Mission Director Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland, Temsunaro Aier.
Minister of State for Education, Annpurna Devi graced the inaugural function as the chief guest on June 17.
The sub theme of the conference included “Teaching Learning Approaches and Pedagogy for FLN in the context of Multilingualism” and “Capacity building and training of teachers in Blended Mode”.
Thematic expert panel discussion sessions were presented by the eminent subject experts from IIM,NIAS, CSTT, MOE, NIEPA,CBSE and CBC, government of India.
Presentations were also made by states on best practices in Foundational Literacy & Numeracy.
Deepak Kesarkar, minister School Education Maharashtra, Chandra Patil, minister Higher & Technical Education Maharashtra, Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, educationist, actor and film maker and Prof. Suresh Gosavi, Vice Chancellor SPPU also spoke in the conference.
The focus of the conference was on strengthening Foundational Literacy & Numeracy in the country by improving the overall ecosystem of school education.
Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sanjay Kumar delivered the welcome address on the second day of the conference. During the 4th G20 EdWG meeting, states and UTs will be exhibiting various initiatives in Foundational Literacy & Numeracy, Blended Learning, and Toy-Based Pedagogy. Nagaland will also be participating in the G20 exhibition.
