The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Dimapur district, for the month of April was held on April 5 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur under the chairmanship of DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar (IAS) who is also the vice chairman DPDB Dimapur.
According to DIPR, reviewing the last DPDB meeting, the house has forwarded, to the government, the proposal for registration of Highway Area Sumi Sports Association, Ikishe village and up-gradation of Spring Valley School Chekiye village, as all requisite criteria were found to be in place. The house also forwarded the matter of registration of House of Friendship Old Age Home Society, Landmark Home, Diphu Road and Act of Kindness Society, Dimapur. With regard to registration of Cleaning Brothers Foundation, East Police Colony, Dimapur, the house forwarded the matter to the Dimapur DMC chairman for further verifications. The matter of registration of Pine Firewood Dealers Union, the house entrusted SDO(C) Sadar with the task of verification. It was decided that proposals to register some more societies would taken up in the next DPDB meeting.
In the meeting, DC Dimapur reminded the DDMA Dimapur district members to attend the meeting which is slated to be held on April 7 at DC’s conference hall, without fail.
Sushil Kumar Patel also advised the Power Department to mobilise staff and ensure regular checking of transformers stating that the electrical load would increase due to onset of the summer season. While telling the power department that in some areas trees are seen touching electrical wires, he suggested that they tie up with village councils and take corrective actions in order to avoid untoward incidents. Sushil Kumar also expressed concern over the condition of the stretch of road from the Police Commissioner’s office to Nagarjan and circuit house. PWD officials assured the house that the stretch of road would be repaired at the earliest, probably before monsoon.
