DIMAPUR: The monthly meeting of the Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held at the DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of DC Temsuwati Longkumer. The session began with the welcoming of new members and confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting.
According to a DIPR report, the board deliberated on the proposal for development and improvement of drainage infrastructure within the district. Departments including PWD (R&B), National Highway and Urban Development were directed to prepare necessary action plans. The proposal for registration of Azikhe Amulung Society, Kiphire Town, was also approved and recommended to the concerned department for final approval.
Members held detailed discussions on the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, with EAC Takatemjen reminding all departments to carry out assigned tasks and submit action taken reports promptly. He also briefed the board on the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, directing administrative officers and heads of offices to observe the campaign and report the number of flags used.
On workplace safety, EAC Takatemjen urged departments to constitute committees for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH), noting that only 15 departments had complied so far. DC Longkumer reiterated that setting up POSH committees is a Supreme Court directive and called for immediate compliance.
SP Kiphire, Chinese, advised departments to strengthen security measures ahead of Independence Day celebrations. ADC Seyochung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, raised concerns over poor BSNL connectivity in Seyochung, prompting the board to request immediate action from the concerned department.
Earlier, the DC appealed to all heads of offices to coordinate closely with area administrative officers while executing their duties, emphasizing collective responsibility in addressing district challenges.
