Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) monthly meeting-cum-advent Christmas programme was held on December 11, at DC’s conference hall.
According to DPRO Mokokchung, at the meeting, the minutes of the last meeting put forwarded concerns regarding the conditions of 2-lane route between DEF Police church to Yisemyong along NH 61 were discussed, where E.E.(NH) informed the members that precaution have been taken for general safety. Report on successful conduct of the first Mokokchung District inter department sport tournament was also presented from the organizing committee.
Board also decided to recommend the recognition of Ungma (Soyim) village as a Heritage village along with the upgradation of Government High School Dilong and Government High School Changtongya (B) to Higher Secondary School to the concern authority. Meanwhile, an advent Christmas programme was also held at DC’s conference hall where DC and vice chairman DPDB, Mokokchung Thsuvisie Phoji shared Christmas greetings. Principal ITI, Mokokchung, Er. Imlisunep delivered a message on “Christmas to me”.
NCSU: Nagaland Contractors’ and Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Head Office Kohima celebrated advent Christmas-cum-felicitation of Best Traffic Award 2023 at Hotel Japfu Kohima on December 12.
At the programme, the Best Traffic Award 2023 among female was awarded to Benthunglo Tungoe, WPC North Traffic Control, Kohima and male to W. Nahfo Konyak, T/C South Traffic Control, Kohima. They were felicitated with cash award and citation.
NCSU president Pele Khezhie while handing over the awards said it was a simple gesture to appreciate the hard work of the traffic personnel in managing the heavy vehicular traffic in the capital city. He extended greetings and wished Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2024.
SP Kohima Bharat Laxman Markad lauded NCSU for recognizing the works of the traffic personnel. He expressed the hope that the contractors and suppliers would continue to deliver quality service.
Pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, Zakiebeituo Metha shared the Christmas message from the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 1 saying that everyone must have celebrated Christmas several times but this time they should have the birth of Jesus Christ in their heart.
Imsünok Jamir, secretary NCSU chaired the programme and invocation by T Yanger Imchen, advisor NCSU. Welcome address by Hoshito Assumi, vice president NCSU, vote of thanks by Tali Sangtam, secretary NCSU and benediction by convenor RTI Cell, Kedou Wetsah.
