DPDB Phek reviews town council activities

Advisor, CAWD & Taxes and chairman DPDB Phek, Kudecho Khamo, while addressing the DPDB meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall on April 14, encouraged the Town Councils of Phek, Pfutsero and Chozuba to ensure judicious utilization of government funds for the development of towns in the district.
According to DIPR report, the meeting was attended by chairpersons, members and executive officers of the respective Town Councils.
The activities and achievements of the three urban bodies were highlighted through PowerPoint presentations by the concerned chairpersons and administrative officers.
Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, underlined the duties and responsibilities of Town Councils in urban development and urged stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability in implementing government schemes for the welfare of citizens.
Presentation of awards for the cleanest town and village in Phek district was also conducted, with Chozuba Town Council and Pfutseromi Village Council adjudged the cleanest town and village respectively.
The meeting further deliberated on the recently launched Livestock Insurance scheme, with Dr. Velilu Epao, VAS Phek, highlighting its features through a presentation. Expressing concern over office attendance, the DC informed that group-wise checking of departments would commence from the first week of May 2026.
It was also decided that the department of Social Welfare & Women Development and Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection would present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
