The District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) and Sub-Divisional District Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) meetings were held in Zunheboto and Pughoboto on July 11 and July 10 respectively.
Zunheboto: District Planning & Development Board meeting was held at DC’s conference hall, Zunheboto. Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman Zunheboto DPDB, Rahul Bhanudas Mali in his opening remark thanked the members and everyone involved in the successful completion of the recently concluded ULB election.
Newly assigned Zunheboto DPDB Chairman, MLA, Er. Picto Shohe in his speech urged all the members to work sincerely and co-operate to make Zunheboto one of the best performing districts in Nagaland. He encouraged the board members to work together and bring about change in the society.
Advisor for Food & Civil supplies and Legal Metrology KT. Sukhalu in his speech commended the administration and SP Zunheboto for the successful completion of ULB. He also advised the members to not only attend the meetings, but also bring the department’s proposals. Sukhalu stated that the government is taking up various measures to contain any malpractices in the working of offices and so advised the officers to be in station and work sincerely for the welfare of the people.
During the meeting, the members discussed on inclusion of Sutsa (Sumi language) at B.A or degree level; opening of JNV institute at Tokiye block at Aghunato; financial assistance for OST center at district hospital; registration of VK range student’s union and recognition of Viza village at Suruhuto. The proposals were approved by the house to be sent to higher authority for further necessary action.
Powerpoint presentations were presented by Nagaland State District Management Authority and Aspirational block Akuhaito block on Sampoornata Abhiyan.
Pughoboto: The Pughoboto Sub-Divisional District Planning & Development Board (SDPDB), meeting for July 2024 was held at DB Hall, ADC Office, Pughoboto. Chairing the SDPDB meeting, MLA, Dr. Sukhato A. Sema gave an imperative call on the availability of officers and staff at office headquarters to ensure proactive functioning of government machineries. The Chairman stressed on concerned authorities and departments to ensure proper school maintenance and timely implementation of various developmental projects that has been sanctioned in the subdivision.
Speaking on the agenda adoption of schools by the SDPDB members, ADC & Vice-Chairman, Tiameren Chang urged the SDPDB members to visit respective adopted schools before the next SDPDB meeting and submit reports accordingly.
The Board proposed setting up of Post Office at Pughoboto to enable a distinct PIN code for the subdivision and also proposed the Post creation of Inspector, Food & Civil Supplies, in the subdivision.
Stressing on the deplorable condition of the road connecting Pughoboto sub-division with Tseminyu, which falls under the jurisdiction of Tseminyu District, the Board recommended immediate endorsement of clearance of block drainage, repair and maintenance of the said road to the concerned district authorities of Tseminyu.
With the dual inauguration of the new ADC Office Complex and first ever State Bank of India Branch in the subdivision scheduled in the month of October 2024, Chairman urged concerned department to expedite electricity and water connection to the new ADC complex.
