Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, president of YMCA Nagaland, has been elected as the regional committee chairman of YMCA-North East India Region (NEIR). This marks the first time a chairman from Nagaland has held this prestigious position.
The installation and swearing-in ceremony for Dr. Ahoto and the new regional committee members took place on January 25, at Mizoram House, Cleve Colony, Shillong. The event was attended by YMCA-NEIR officials and delegates from member YMCAs across the North East.
During the ceremony, J.R. Myrboh, chairman of the nomination committee, announced the newly elected office bearers. They were administered the oath of office by Most Rev. Dr. P. Lyngdoh, Bishop of the Anglican Churches, Diocese of North East India.
Following the formal installation, the new committee convened for its first meeting to discuss agendas and pass resolutions for the upcoming session.
