Japukong Kaketshir Mungdang (Japukong Student Conference) observed its 69th conference at Satsukba village with the theme “Future Vision” from January 13-15.
Parliamentary secretary for Agriculture, Dr. Benjongliba graced the inaugural function as chief guest.
Dr. Benjongliba while lauding JKM office bearers for organizing the event in a grand manner, said the successful conduct of the conference was due to the cooperation and unity maintained by the students community. He urged the students to continue to extend cooperation so that more development could be achieved.
Parliamentary secretary also expressed hope in meeting the students in the next conference to be held at his native village Yajang in 2019.
Dr. Benjong also recalled the gathering of his first attendance during the first JKM in 1964 at Lirmen village, when he was studying in class 2.
Referring to the 30 A/C of Alongtaki as a land of potential, Dr. Benjongliba informed that the foothill road has been approved and DPR was on process while Tzurangkong to Mariani approved as National Highway.
Minister for National Highway, Mechanical Engineering and Election, Nuklutoshi who graced the programme on January 14, urged the youngsters to preserve the cultural identity.
Earlier in the morning, the 3rd J.N.Aier Educational Award- 2016 (For the Session of 2013- 2015) was presented to 15 students of various courses, institution, board/ university. The awards were sponsored by J.N.Aier Socio Economic Society.
