Former chief minister and NPF president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu has held out an olive branch to NPF (TR-NR) leaders as he urged them to join the party’s General Convention (GC) at Khuochiezie, Kohima on November 22.
In what appeared to be a fervent appeal and also a final call on Thursday, Dr. Liezietsu termed it as “unfortunate and shameful” on the part of NPF to have an internal problem for almost the entire tenure of the 12th NLA. He also regretted that many NPF leaders had left the party without having proper understanding about the intention of those forces that had been creating the problem.
“I know that all those leaders would not leave the Party if only they know the black magic behind all these games,” he maintained.
Dr. Liezietsu admitted that some time as human beings “we all commit mistake or make wrong decision”. However, he emphasized that such mistakes should never drive them away further from the truth out of super-consciousness as there was always time to take the right path again after realisation of such mistakes.
Dr. Liezietsu extended invitation to “all former leaders who left the party because of the confusion created by some undesirable elements”. “This is a call to all leaders who really love this party and its symbol ‘Cock’. For them it will be nothing new but home coming. Make the right decision at the right time and join me before the GC for a better tomorrow,” he appealed.
