Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA inaugurated the Lürhü Girls’ Hostel at District Institute of Education & Training (DIET) Pfutsero on August 31. According to a DIPR report, in his speech, Dr. Mero called upon the students to be united as the name of the hostel implies and sought cooperation among the teaching faculty. As a former hosteller himself, he encouraged the students to make new friends and learn good things from one another.
While appreciating the institution for additional trainings and dedication, he said that Nagaland state is not lacking behind and the government was also doing all it can for development in education trying to improve all logistics and needs in schools. He also highlighted on the poor enrolment in government schools, saying that it should be the collective effort and responsibility of the government, politicians, civil societies and the church.
The advisor said that there will also be a boost in the economy if government schools are revived as many spent heavily on private institutions. Teachers and society must set an example to the students in moulding them as students are very receptive and sensitive. He called upon the people to put their heads together to know where the loophole is and march forward in unity and prosperity.
He further expressed hope that they will together march forward towards the improvement and development of DIET. Dr. Mero further thanked the chief minister of Nagaland for his concern towards Pfutsero Assembly Constituency and for bringing development to DIET as well as the Girls Hostel.
He also thanked the advisor, School Education & SCERT for his keen interest and also to the land owners for contributing the land to the Government of Nagaland for development. The programme was chaired by Sr. lecturer Dr. Aneile P. Duolo, welcome speech by principal DIET Pfutsero, Atula Wai while vote of thanks was proposed by Sr. lecturer, Zaveta Kotso.
