The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has unanimously decided that the Junior National Girls Championship will now be named in honor of the first Captain of the Indian Olympic Football Team (1948), Late Dr. T. Ao as a tribute to Late Dr.T. Ao’s outstanding contributions to Indian football
In this regard, the Executive Committee of All India Football Federation (AIFF) had approved the 1st edition of Dr. T. Ao Junior (Girls) National Football Championship 2025 to be held in the second week of November. This was decided during a meeting held in Delhi on July 2, 2025.
