Dr. T. Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship: Assam crush J&K 11-0

DIMAPUR, DEC 5 (NPN)

Assam delivered a yet another commanding performance to register an emphatic 11–0 victory over Jammu & Kashmir in the Dr. T Ao National Junior Girls Football Championship at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Thursday, in front of nearly 700 spectators.
Assam began on an aggressive note, creating early chances that kept the J&K defence under pressure. They came close in the 6th minute when a well-timed cross from the left flank found the striker, but the header sailed over the bar.
Their breakthrough arrived in the 13th minute through Sayasree (11), who neatly placed the ball into the net. Moments later, Ishneha (12) struck the crossbar, narrowly missing the opportunity to double the lead. Assam however continued to attack relentlessly, with Mary (7) finding the mark soon after to make it 2–0, before Ribika (8) converted a corner in the 28th minute to extend the lead. A minute later, Mary struck again, completing her brace and taking the scoreline to 4–0. An error by the J&K goalkeeper gifted Sayasree her second goal of the match, bringing Assam’s tally to five. Assam remained dominant, with Mary adding another goal to complete her hat-trick.
In added time, Lokhi (12) slotted in the team’s seventh goal as the first half ended in overwhelming favour of the northeastern side. Assam resumed the second half even stronger, with Banasree Bordoloi (19) scoring in the 48th minute to make it 8–0. Despite the one-sided contest, J&K goalkeeper Hargun produced several commendable saves to keep the scoreline in check. J&K attempted to push forward in the 56th and 58th minutes, but both efforts were denied by Assam’s defensive line. Assam’s attacking momentum continued, with Sayasree completing her hat-trick in the 71st minute from a long-range effort, while Ribika added another in the 75th minute.
Sayasree later scored again in the 82nd minute, her fourth of the match, to seal an 11–0 triumph.
