Punjab portrayed authority with a commanding 7–0 victory over host team Nagaland in Match No. 10 of the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier 2) on Wednesday at Chumoukedima Football Stadium.
Punjab controlled the flow of the game with 54% ball possession, constantly pushing forward and forcing Nagaland backline into uncomfortable territory.
Punjab’s attacking prowess was reflected in 12 shots on target and 11 off target, while Nagaland struggled to establish rhythm, managing only a single attempt on target throughout the match.
The visitors opened the goal early when Nisha netted in the 12th minute, while forward Joya recorded a remarkable four-goal haul, scoring in 45+4th, 53rd, 66th and 86th minute mark.
Adding to Nagaland’s woes, Harmeen struck twice in quick succession, finding the net in the 73rd and 83rd minute, sealing Punjab’s emphatic win and showcasing the team’s depth and attacking cohesion.
The host team, despite bursts of resolve, found it difficult to break through Punjab’s compact defensive structure.
They earned two corners and a free kick but failed to convert the opportunities into meaningful threats.
Uttarakhand crush Andaman & Nicobar 9–0
Uttarakhand delivered a dominant performance in their match against Andaman & Nicobar, in Match No. 9. Seizing control of the ball possession from kick-off, Uttarakhand enjoyed 69% possession and recorded 32 shots on target.
The highlight of the day came from Uttarakhand’s forward Khushi Pal (10), who produced a remarkable double hat-trick, scoring six goals, coming off of 2nd, 17th, 36th, 57th, 78th and 90th minute mark.
Shruti (14) added her name to the scoresheet in the 21st minute with a composed strike, extending the early advantage. Uttarakhand continued to press high into the final minutes, and their persistence paid off when Ku Varsha (16) netted a late brace, scoring in the 89th and 90+4 minutes to round off a commanding victory. Andaman & Nicobar struggled to find rhythm, managing only one attempt on goal and failing to register a single shot on goal.
