Draft publication of Electoral roll with special summary Revision with reference to January 1, 2017 as the qualifying date in respect of Mokokchung district was announced at a meeting convened by DC & District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel in the conference hall of district Planning Office on October 1. The meeting was attended by ADC & Electoral Registration Officer Bendangliba, all the administrative officers, representatives from all the Political parties and NGOs.
DIPR reported that CEO announcing the publication of the draft electoral roll appealed to all political parties and all concern to cooperate with the Election department to undertake the ensuing summary revision to make it ‘hundred percent error-free’ He also welcomed all political parties check double entry, death, new entry of electors to make the electoral roll clean. He also explained the significant efforts made by the Election Commission for a clean election based on clean E-Roll.
As notified earlier, period of filling claims and objections would be held from October 1 to 31, special campaign with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections would be carried out from October 8 to 22 and disposal of claims and objections by November 30, 2016. Updating of data base, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary list will be made on December 24, 2016 and the final publication would be on January 10, 2017.
