As per the directive of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Tuensang conducted orientation training for district level line department officials and Block Development Officers (BDOs) on “people’s plan campaign” under Dream Panchayat Development Plan (DPDP).
A press release by DRDA Tuensang stated that in a keynote address, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and CEO DRDA Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant encouraged the officers to sincerely work for GPDP. Stating that with right plan development could not be stopped, Kumar asked officials to ensure development of villages. “Officers need to diligently work on GPDP, so that economic empowerment and social justice can be ensured to people in the grass root,” said Kumar. PD DRDA Tuensang T. Achila Quinker also urged the gathering to be serious in the whole planning process of the GPDP. She also appraised on how proper planning could lead to convergence of schemes among the line departments, so that bigger project could be taken up effectively with conglomeration of technical expertise, funds and ideas of various line departments. A presentation on GPDP and VPRP was made by BDO Panso Ebou Chang and ADPM, NSRLM, Thrikyuse Sangtam respectively.
