After the drone attack on ULFA (Independent) camps, another drone attack was carried out on the camps of insurgent outfit NSCN-K (Yung Aung) along the India-Myanmar international border in Arunachal Pradesh in which at least five militants were killed, the Deccan Chronicle report stated.
Security agencies said a senior NSCN-K (YA) leader had sustained grievous injuries in the drone strike, and among the five killed were three bodyguards of a senior NSCN-K leader who escaped with injuries.
Though the security forces operating in these areas were tight-lipped about the drone attack, sources said that the camps targeted were believed to have been giving shelter to those responsible for recent attacks on Indian security installations.
This came soon after a pre-dawn attack on October 16, when insurgents launched an assault on a company operating base (COB) of the Assam Rifles near Manmao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Two Assam Rifles personnel were injured in that ambush.
NSCN-K (YA) condemns
The NSCN-K (Yung Aung) on Tuesday condemned what it described as Indian drone attacks on Khenmoi-Loiyi village in the East Konyak Region on Monday evening, saying the strikes killed two civilians– a 27-year-old man and an 8-year-old girl– and left four others seriously injured.
In a statement, the outfit’s MIP termed the incident a “clear act of genocide” and said attacks on innocent civilians and children were unacceptable and a violation of international norms. The group alleged this was the second deliberate drone strike on Naga civilians this year, referring to an earlier incident on July 13, 2025.
The statement called on the international community to take action and hold India accountable, and urged Naga civil society and citizens to condemn the attack. It also expressed solidarity with the people of Khenmoi-Loiyi, extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
NSCN-K (YA) said the strike exposed, in its view, a disregard for Naga lives and warned that its response would intensify if such actions continued.
