DSC office gate inaugurated in Dimapur

Staff Reporter DIMAPUR, FEB 21 (NPN):

Dimapur Sumi Council (DSC) office gate was formally inaugurated on Saturday at Supply Colony, Dimapur, in a programme attended by community leaders and members.
The newly constructed gate was dedicated by Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC) senior pastor, Rev. Dr. Kihoto Rochill, while Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Transport Department, Niholu Ayemi, graced the occasion as the special guest and formally inaugurated the gate.
In his address, Ayemi lauded the council for successfully completing the construction and expressed hope that the new structure would stand as a symbol of unity and progress for the community. He assured the council and members of his continued support and encouraged collective efforts for the welfare and development of society.
An exhortation was delivered by DSC vice president, while greetings were conveyed by DMC nominee councillor Ihoto K. Shohe. A short speech was also delivered by DSC advisor Kuhoi Zhimo. Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by NCRC Sumi Dimapur Town pastor Rev. Vitoka Kinimi, followed by a welcome address from DSC president Shikuto Yeptho. Cultural presentations by STL Niu Colony and STL Sematilla added colour to the occasion. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by DSSKK president Daniel Swu and a benediction pronounced by DSBC pastor Henitoli.
Transport Dept concludes NST GM office enquiry: Meanwhile, speaking on the sidelines of the event, Transport Department OSD Niholu Ayemi informed that the departmental enquiry into allegations at the Nagaland State Transport (NST) General Manager’s office has been concluded.
It may be recalled that in January, several trainees alleged they had received phone calls asking them to report to the GM’s office with original documents and Rs. 10,000 in cash for “paperwork.” The department had clarified that no official was authorised to collect money and ordered a formal enquiry. Ayemi stated that the findings of the enquiry would be made public shortly and assured that appropriate action would follow as directed by the government.
