Dimapur Sümi Students’ Union (DSSU) organised a Special Women’s Workshop-cum-Seminar on the theme “From Struggle to Strength: The Rise of the Resilient Women” at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on October 2.
The event brought together students, professionals and community leaders to promote women’s empowerment, leadership and well-being.
State Mahila vice president, BJP Nagaland, Kashini Kiba, graced the occasion as chief guest and encouraged women to break barriers and pursue opportunities with courage. Guest of honour Dr. Anungla Aier, president of Central Nagaland Women’s Association (CNWA) and former Director of Higher Education, stressed the need to create spaces where women can thrive with dignity.
Dr. Pritpal Kaur, SP Phek, spoke on artificial intelligence, women’s education and cybercrime, stating that women are already equal and must be given equal opportunities. Comdt. (Dr.) Sandhyarani Nongmaithem, CMO, 15th Assam Rifles, delivered a session on women’s hygiene, breast and cervical cancer, and motherhood diet.
A self-defence workshop was conducted by Havaldar L. Nanao Singh of the 15th Assam Rifles, equipping participants with basic techniques for personal safety.
The programme saw participation from Rifle Women of the 15th Assam Rifles, CNWA representatives, and student leaders from Western Sümi Students’ Union, Ato Area Students’ Union, and Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union.
DSSU women coordinator and chief organiser, Kainali H. Aye, expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants, stating that the workshop was a testament to women’s resilience and leadership potential.
