Kiphire District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 held a joint meeting with health workers under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner (DC)and DTF chairman Kiphire, T.Wati Aier in the DPDB hall, Kiphire on Saturday.
According to a DIPR report, while discussing on re-opening of schools, the members decided to resume classes with 50% attendance maintaining all COVID-19 protocols as laid down by the government. It decided that all the teachers and non-teaching staff would get vaccinated or to provide COVID-19 testing certificate every 15 days to prevent the outbreak.
DC asked SDEO Kiphire to disseminate the information to all the schools within Kiphire district regarding re-opening of schools.
He also said that the district administration would check whether the schools were following SOPs as issued by the govern Meanwhile, chief medical officer (CMO) Kiphire informed that testing was very less in the district and urged everyone to follow the guidelines and to be more careful with the upcoming festive season.
He encouraged those teachers who have not been vaccinated to avail the opportunity for their safety and for the students.
