District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19, Kiphire in its meeting has resolved to award those villages and wards achieving 100 percent vaccination. The meeting was held on July 9 at DPDB, conference hall and was chaired by DC & chairman DTF, T. Wati Aier.
According to DIPR report, the deputy commissioner (DC) informed that despite efforts being carried out in the district, it had the lowest percentage in COVID-19 vaccination among the other districts in the state.
In this regard, he urged upon the members and ward chairmen, ward GBs and ward representatives to put more effort in the vaccination drives to achieve the target.
The DC also informed that financial assistance would be provided to the eleven wards to help monitor COVID-19 activities in their respective wards.
Wati Aier suggested the district education officer (DEO) to educate the teachers to create awareness on sensitisation and vaccination drives.
CMO, Motsuthung while briefing on COVID-19 status said that six people in the district died due to COVID-19 and out of six people, only one person received the first dose.
While highlighting the status of COVID-19 activities DIO, Dr. K. Pewezo Khalo said that around 30 villages had not yet vaccinated even a single person.
He also said that as per the government directives, the target was to achieve 90% vaccination.
The members deliberated on the third wave preparation with various strategies and activities to be carried out in the entire district.
The DTF and in collaboration with 41 Assam Rifles also decided to conduct intensified special vaccination drive on COVID-19 at deluxe point, Kiphire from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 11.
All the eligible beneficiaries have been informed to avail the opportunity.
