A District Task force (DTF) meeting on malaria elimination, under NVBDCP Wokha district, was held at the DC’s conference hall in collaboration with departments of Agriculture, Fishery, Education, Social welfare, Municipal cooperation & NGOs (Team Metamorphosis) and other stakeholders on November 28.
A press release by Wokha district vector borne officer (DVBO), Dr. Zathung Lotha stated that DC Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon chaired the program where Dr Zuben Kikon, deputy CMO highlighted the importance of inter-sectoral collaborations working as a unit to achieve the elimination of malaria in the district.
DC laid emphasis on the participation of all the involved stakeholders to achieve the requisite targets and service penetration to all citizens and fostering behavioral changes to bring rapid strides in service delivery. Dr. Zathung Lotha presented information on the vector borne disease covered by the NVBDCP in the district and also on preventive measures. DVBC, Wezolo Medo, presented the scenario of the district at present, activities carried out in the district, and objectives of the DTF.
All stake holders gave their input and layouts to initiate changes from their end for working together under one umbrella. Yanpothung Kikon pronounced the vote of thanks.
