State government has directed all district task forces (DTFs) to strictly enforce all the existing guidelines and SOPs for preventing the spread of COVID-19 during celebration of the upcoming Holi festival, Good Friday, Easter and other festivals in the State. In a communiqué, principal secretary, home, Abhijit Sinha, stated that the Centre has expressed concern over the rise in the number of COVID cases and deaths in several States in the recent past and has sought strict enforcement of COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and the prescribed SOPs for the various activities.
Therefore, all DTFs have been asked to take necessary steps for reiterating among the public the utmost need to following COVID-19 appropriate behaviour during the celebration of upcoming festivals to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Besides creating wide awareness, DTFs have been asked to take appropriate action as per law against anyone found violating the existing guidelines and SOPs.
