DUCCF clarifies on joint statement

Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), which attended the joint meeting with Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) and GB Union Dimapur Sardar (GBUD-S) on October 4, has issued a clarification with regard to the joint statement published in local dailies on October 6.

DUCCF through its information and publicity secretary Ron Savino informed that DUCCF officials held an emergency meeting on October 5, 2023 and discussed the issue and the outcome of the joint meeting held on October 4, 2023. At its emergency meeting, DUCCF resolved that the issue pertaining to the appointment/removal of a New Market GB, Abdul Kayum Talukdar, was an internal matter and, therefore, should be settled by the office of the GB Union-Sadar Dimapur and the district administration. With regard to Rising People’s Party (RPP) president’s statement, DUCCF has appealed to the DDGBA and GBUD-S to settle the matter amicably.

In the light of the above, DUCCF has appealed to the general public to refrain from “confronting this matter in the social media” but rather support the GBUD-Sadar in solving the issue.
