Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) has voiced serious concern regarding the dilapidated and neglected state of road dividers across several areas of Dimapur city, warning that the poor condition posed a significant risk to public safety.
DUCCF through its media cell highlighted present state of dividers—broken concrete structures, scattered debris, and poor maintenance.
It said the dividers built to regulate traffic flow and protect commuters were now failing in their purpose and instead creating hazards for motorists, pedestrians, and users of public transport.
The federation strongly urged the responsible department and authorities to take immediate steps to repair, restore, and properly maintain the damaged road dividers without further delay.
DUCCF maintained that prompt action would help prevent potential accidents and enhance both the safety and aesthetic appeal of the city’s roads.
Further, DUCCF appealed to the authorities to investigate the root causes of the damage and establish robust monitoring and regular maintenance systems to prevent such neglect from recurring in the future.
Stating that Dimapur serves as the commercial hub of Nagaland, the federation said preserving civic infrastructure was a shared responsibility.
The federation reaffirmed its commitment to consistently highlight issues affecting the welfare and safety of the public.
