Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) has expressed sincere appreciation to the state government for taking steps to complete the long-pending Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex (MDSC) in Dimapur.
DUCCF through its media cell also lauded the government for exploring collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to ensure timely completion and effective management of the project.
The federation acknowledged the “genuine concern” demonstrated by chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and the state government in addressing the prolonged delay in the stadium’s construction, which remained incomplete for over two decades. The federation described the decision to involve the SAI as a positive, pragmatic, and forward-looking measure. It expressed belief that SAI’s participation would bring essential technical expertise, professional management, and necessary resources to finally bring the project to fruition.
DUCCF stated that MDSC, once completed, was expected to significantly benefit the youth of Nagaland by offering world-class training facilities and platforms to excel in diverse sports disciplines.
Further, the federation highlighted that the stadium would serve as a vital hub for nurturing young talent and fostering a strong sports culture across the state.
DUCCF noted that the completion of the sports complex would not only strengthen sporting infrastructure in Dimapur but also contribute substantially to the overall development of the city and the state as a whole.
The federation reiterated its full support for all constructive initiatives undertaken by the government to expedite the project’s completion.
DUCCF has, therefore, appealed to all responsible departments and authorities to coordinate effectively and work in unison so the long-awaited sports complex becomes fully operational without any further delay.
DUCCF welcomes move to complete MDSC in Dimapur
