DVC reaffirms ban on unauthorized tax

DIMAPUR

Darogapathar Village Council (DVC) has reiterated its stance against unauthorized tax collection, confirming its resolution passed on August 18, 2016. The council strictly prohibits any NNPG group from imposing taxes on businesses or households within Darogapathar.
In a press release, DVC secretary I. Akum Jamir and chairman K. Ade Bizo also informed that any inspections related to expiry dates on consumable items, weighing scales, pricing, and similar matters must have prior approval from the Council. They warned that individuals or groups conducting such activities without permission would face legal action. DVC reaffirmed its commitment to “One Government, One Tax.”
