Diphupar Village Council (DVC) has refuted the Diphupar Communities Chairmen Forum (DCCF)’s allegations of misappropriation of fund meant for village development allegedly by members of DVC, GBs and village development board (VDB) members.
In a rejoinder, DVC chairman Lanutoshi, and secretary, E Philip Lotha, said the village council having gone through the report considered that it would be prudent not to react to the allegations through a rejoinder as the matter was sub judice before the office of the extra assistant commissioner (EAC), Chumukedima.
However, DVC said that to set to the records straight it refutes all the allegations leveled by the “so called Diphupar Communities Chairmen Forum.”
Meanwhile, DVC has assured to assist and cooperate with the administration and public “to justify its stand with all the fact and figures.”
Since Diphupar village was a government recognized village and guided by Nagaland Village Council Act 1978, Nagaland VDB Model Rule 1980 and MGNREGA 2005, the village council said it was bounden duty of DVC to cooperate with the government in respect of its policies and plans formulated by the government. Further, DVC expressed hope that once the case was heard in the court of EAC Chumukedima, the matter would be resolved and set to rest.
EAC show cause notice on DVC
On receipt of DCCF representation dated April 13, 2018 against DVC, GBs, and management committee members of Diphupar VDB over misappropriation of funds, EAC Chumukedima is understood to have served a show cause notice dated April 16, 2018 on DCV.
The allegations, if found to be true, was a serious offence and liable for disciplinary action including disqualification as per section 16(4) of the Nagaland Village and Tribal Council Act, 1978 and others, it stated.
EAC Chumukedima, Thejavizo Nakhro, therefore, directed the DVC members, GBs and management committee members of Diphupar VDB to show cause in writing within five days as to why further action(s) should not be initiated against them.
