E(Y/P)SU expresses dismay over work along NH-29

Enhulumi (Yoseba/Pfutsemi) Students’ Union [E(Y/P)SU] has expressed dissatisfaction over the speed of works by the NHIDCL along National Highway 29 on construction of 2-lane highway between Pfutsero and Chizami.

In a press release, E(Y/P)SU president Wekutsho Lohe and general secretary Eyiekhrote Vero stated that the work begun since mid-2021, however “not even a single kilometer stretch” was completed since the work commenced.

Stating that this had created inconvenience not only to the people living at Pfutsero-Chizami but also to the vehicles, E(Y/P)SU said the construction authority vowed to complete the construction of 2-lane in the Enhulumi village jurisdiction before Christmas.

It said Christmas was only a week away however the black topping had yet not started. The union pointed out that the public also need to cooperate with construction authority in order to bring about effective road in the region.

E(Y/P)SU has, therefore appealed to individuals to cooperate with the construction works and asked the construction authority to maintain the road properly during construction so that the vehicles do not meet untoward incidents.

Further, the union asked NHIDCL to speed up construction works and complete the construction as vowed to the public of Enhulumi village.
