Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) organised a workshop on “uplifting women street vendors-Dimapur chapter” on March 27 at their training centre, Darogapathar, wherein around 30 women vendors attended the training to discuss issues and problems.
A press release by EA stated that master franchisee of Aloha Mental Arithmetic, Neikule Doulo shared that there were over 10 million street vendors in India. She emphasised that vendors needed to take their work seriously inspite of the difficulties related to this profession. She advised them to save for the future and to pass on the message of “dignity of labour” to their children and families for creating changes. Neikule stressed that all businesses needed to be honest to win the trust of people and earn regular customers.
Susan Ela James, the lead trainer of EA shared some tips about how to win customers and providing better services. She suggested that a smile could even go a long way to win over people to gain benefits in the future.
Interactive sessions were led by Temsurenla and Michelle Hesso to facilitate in depth understanding of this segment. The program is an initiative undertaken by EA and has so far given similar training sessions in Kohima and Pfutsero towns.
