Exam time has arrived and all students’ appearing class 10 and 12 are already on the job to get through the test and go to the next level. Students are trying their best since last year to give their best effort for clearing the forthcoming examination in the best possible manner. Using all available options, parents and family members are trying their best to provide the best support to their ward for the coming final exams. Even the school authority lead by the management are trying their best to provide the best assistance to the students so as to get the best results and thereby gain recognition and fame as the best school in the area. Who on earth do not want the best? Yes, everyone wants it! But, let us not forget the individuality of every student. Everyone is wonderfully and beautifully created by God very uniquely in his own image! Every student is best in their own way even if they couldn’t do like the other academically. It is the responsibility of the parents and teachers to recognize the mentality of every child and only the appropriate treatment must be given to them. Categorizing few students as hopefuls for the top ten in the final examination can be an undue pressure for some students that can cost even the students’ life itself. Such practices by schools must be carefully taken up so as to avoid any undue pressure on the students just for the sake of a name. Those students appearing classes 10 and 12 are mostly of the age group of 16 to 20 years who are being considered as adolescents; a very critical phase of life. They may speak, act and look like an adult but they are not emotionally and mentally strong as an adult. Many of them may have conflicting thoughts about life as this is a stage where people started asking who am I? They may start to compare their lives with others and formed varied behaviors for life. It is also a time where they started making friends and form stronger bond than the family members. In short, this stage of life can be considered as most critical and every care must be provided lovingly by all the stakeholders for the proper growth of the child. Our students are already stressed; they have their own pressure to do better and make their parents and school proud. Let us not put more pressure on them!
