ECI notifies on prohibition of exit and opinion poll

Election Commission of India (ECI) has notified the period between 7 a.m on February 18 and 4:30 p.m on February 27 as the period during which conducting of exit poll and publishing or publicising by means of the print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner, the result of any exit poll in connection with the current general elections to the legislative assembly of Nagaland shall be prohibited. It further clarified that displaying any election matter including results of any opinion poll or any other poll survey, in any electronic media, would be prohibited during the period of 48 hours ending with the hour fixed for conclusion of poll in each of the phases in connection with the aforesaid general elections.
