Edn cum cultural exchange tour

A combined education cum cultural exchange tour of the Diphupar Naga Students Union (DNSU) and the Diphupar Naga Youth Organization (DNYO) to Kolkata and Port Blair was flagged off Monday at a by brigadier 5 sector commander H.K. Singh.
The delegation comprises of sixteen students (all males) headed by Noel Manuel, convenor of the tour programme.
The tour supported by the Diphupar Village Council and financed by chief minister, Assam Rifles, NEZCC, art and culture department, sports and youth resources would last from august 12 to 21.
The tour is aimed for promoting “a sustainable income through the minimum resources available.”
Number of cultural exchange programmes has been scheduled for the visiting students at Port Blair, which would include performances at the district administration, YMCA and the Lieutenant governor’s residence.
Chairing the flagging off programme village chairman K. Kapfo called upon the students and youth to bring back experiences that could help the young minds to learn a thing or two.
Brigadier H.K. Singh while dwelling on the future of the youth said, “the youth were the future of any society and their development is vital for a progressive and prosperous nation.”
Among those present were co 24 Assam Rifles, 2 i/c 24 Assam Rifles, village GBs, secretary and a host of well wishers.
