East Dimapur Sumi Students Union (EDSSU) has extended its support to the ultimatum issued on the contractor by East Dimapur Sumi Council (EDSC) regarding the completion of footbridge under construction at Old Dhansiri River.
In a press note, EDSSU president, Kanato S. Awomi and general secretary, Ato Achumi has urged the concerned contractors to construct a suspension bridge immediately for the safety of students and general public.
It stated that the old rusted footbridge meant for telecom cable was unsafe and that accident could happen at any moment for which the contractor would be held solely responsible. EDSSU also demanded that the concerned contractor construct a suspension bridge till the completion of new bridge.
