EDTC alerts public on illegal immigration risk

Dimapur

East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has issued a public alert urging residents to remain vigilant in light of the ongoing crackdown on illegal immigrants in neighbouring Assam. The council warned of potential attempts by such individuals to enter and seek shelter within its jurisdiction.
Citizens, landlords, and landowners have been advised to closely monitor unfamiliar movements or new settlements and verify the identity and legal status of any tenants or workers before offering accommodation or employment.
EDTC cautioned that those found sheltering illegal immigrants knowingly may face legal consequences under applicable laws. The council stressed that proactive reporting and community cooperation are essential to safeguard local security and wellbeing.
