EDTC appeals for cleanliness amid waste concerns

DIMAPUR: East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has expressed concern over the indiscriminate dumping of waste along roadsides and public areas within its jurisdiction.
In a press release, EDTC stated that such practices not only create an unpleasant environment but also lead to unhygienic conditions, blockage of drains, pollution and health risks for the community. The council urged citizens to act responsibly, uphold civic sense and maintain proper hygiene, stressing that a clean environment is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation from all residents.
Acknowledging the inconvenience caused due to the absence of a designated dumping site, EDTC informed that the concerned authority was actively working to establish one at the earliest. Until suitable arrangements are made, the public has been requested to bear with the situation and refrain from disposing of waste along roadsides and public spaces.
The council appreciated the patience, understanding and cooperation of citizens, while emphasizing that through collective responsibility and civic awareness, a cleaner and healthier East Dimapur Town can be achieved.
