EDTC directives on CCTV

East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has directed all commercial establishments, institutions and banking service providers located along the highway and main roads within its jurisdiction to install CCTV cameras by November 30, 2025.
In a press release EDTC informed that the directive aims to strengthen public safety, deter illegal activities and help maintain law and order in the town.
Establishments have been instructed to install functional CCTV cameras facing the roadside and inside key areas of their premises. The cameras must remain operational at all times, and recordings should be properly maintained. EDTC informed that inspections will be carried out after the deadline, and non-compliance may attract penalties as per relevant regulations.
