DIMAPUR: East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has appealed all residents to pay their sanitation fees on time to ensure uninterrupted collection and proper management of waste within the Council’s jurisdiction.
In a press release, EDTC directed all landlord/landowner/building owners provide separate dustbins for wet waste and dry waste for every household/apartments occupied by tenant/tenants, and also ensure digging a compost pit within their premises for proper disposal and composting of wet waste.
EDTC also reminded general public that dumping garbage on roadsides, drains, or other public places as well as burning waste were strictly prohibited, cautioning that any person found violating these regulations would be liable for inspection, penalties and other actions as per the applicable rules.
Residents have been further informed that waste collection services may be suspended for households that fail to pay sanitation fees until all outstanding dues were cleared.
EDTC therefore requested cooperation of all residents in practicing proper waste segregation and responsible waste disposal to maintain a clean, healthy and environmentally sustainable East Dimapur Town.
