DIMAPUR: East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has informed the public that it successfully cleared accumulated sewage and waste within its jurisdiction on June 2.
In a press release, East Dimapur Town Council cautioned that any individual, household, commercial establishment or vehicle found illegally dumping waste, sewage, construction debris or other materials on roadsides, drains, vacant lands or unauthorized locations will be penalized.
The Council urged all residential and commercial establishments to segregate wet and dry waste at source before disposal, stressing that proper segregation is vital for effective waste management, environmental protection and public hygiene.
It further informed that East Dimapur Town Council has been granted a limited period of one month to dispose of collected waste at the designated dumping site of the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC). During this period, efforts are being made to manage disposal and maintain a clean environment.
Appealing for public cooperation, East Dimapur Town Council called upon citizens to demonstrate civic responsibility in maintaining cleanliness and protecting the environment, stating that “together, we can ensure a cleaner, healthier and more livable East Dimapur Town.”
