Education department on reducing syllabus

Directorate of school education has informed that SCERT, Nagaland has reduced the contents in the subjects English Reader, English Grammar, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Hindi, Life Skill Education and Nagaland Heritage Studies for classes 1 to 7. 

According to DIPR report, the department has informed that the notification was in pursuance to the decision taken by the government to reduce 20% of the syllabus for classes 1 to 8 in consideration of COVID-19 pandemic. The department has directed all concerned to take note that the reduced syllabus prepared by SCERT contains subjects of class 8 as well. In regards to content reduction for class 8, the department informed that schools shall follow content reductions notified by Nagaland Board of School Education vide Letter Nos. NBE-3/Ad-TB(10) 2020/567 Dated, May 22, 2020 and NBE-30/Ad-VIII 2020-21/569 Dated, May 23, 2020. It has been informed that copies of the revised syllabus can be downloaded from department’s website ‘https://education.nagaland.gov.in/’ and that the revised syllabus comes into force with immediate effect.
