Educational institutions organise programmes

As part of its academic and extracurricular activities, educational institutions across the state organised various programmes and activities. Kohima: Olivian Fest 2023 organised by Mount Olive College, Kohima concluded on Friday.


At the closing ceremony, Moatemsu, an alumnus and youth director of 4th NAP ‘C’ Coy Baptist Fellowship, shared motivational insights with the attendees.


The day’s agenda featured a literary-cum-alumni meet, an extemporaneous speech competition, and a thought-provoking debate on the topic “Is artificial intelligence a threat to humanity?”.


Guest artists Nikato Tamang, a singer and songwriter, and Bokato Kiho, the winner of Naga God’s Talent S-1 also presented special numbers. The festivities concluded valedictory session and the “Olivian Feast.”


SJU: A two-day international conference on “multidisciplinary research and innovation” was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IAQC) of St. Joseph University (SJU) Chümoukedima on November 9-10.


Special guest, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam stressed on the importance of openness to ideas and change. He remarked that the future of society lies in the research conducted within university campuses, encouraging individuals to engage in multidisciplinary research and innovation to shape a progressive society.


Earlier, the conference commenced with a keynote address by vice-chancellor of SJU, Dr. D. Gnanadurai emphasizing the essence and importance of multidisciplinary aspects in education.


The conference featured technical sessions conducted by distinguished speakers from various parts of the world. Notable sessions included those led by Dr. Khokan CH. Das (Assam University Diphu campus), Dr. Musole Siachise (Mulungushi University, Zambia), Dr. Julian Andres Munevar (UFABC, Soa Paulo, Brazil), Mrs. Preetha Joseph (CVRDE-Chennai, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, India), and Dr. Ruksana Banu (Muscat College, Sultanate of Oman).


IC: Immanuel College (IC) Dimapur under the initiative of the department of education observed “National Education Day, 2023” on the theme, “To Invest in People, Prioritise Education” on November 10 at the College Auditorium.


Speaker of the programme, IC vice principal, Dr. T. Imchanochetla Changkija, while speaking on the theme, said that education was an investment for the better tomorrow and students being the backbone of the nation investing in them was like building the modern pillars.


Deliberating on the role of education in students’ life, she gave a clarion call to the students to prioritise their education and identify their goals and live with passions. She encouraged the gathering to educate their mind, explore within, prioritise their goals and invest in themselves.


In a separate event, department of education and women cell, Immanuel College, Dimapur in collaboration with the Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre organised “skill training on food processing’ on November 6-10 at the College premises.
