EduVersity Plus, a Civil Services Coaching Institution in Dimapur, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its library, NPSC E-Study Portal, and NSSB Club App on Thursday. The event was graced by the Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along, as the chief guest.
In his address, Along acknowledged the potential of EduVersity Plus to become a premier coaching center for students in Nagaland. He informed that around 30,000 students graduate from higher education institutions in Nagaland annually, with many seeking further studies outside the state.
Despite 62 years of statehood, the state has made limited progress, and the minister expressed his appreciation for student organizations that contributed to strengthening the NPSC and forming the NSSB, which will aid students in securing government jobs.
The minister highlighted that despite Nagaland being one of the most literate states in India, with a population of 20-21 lakh, it continues to face numerous societal challenges. He raised concerns about the prevalence of tribalism, the proliferation of unions and syndicates, and the lack of a strong work ethic, which he believes hinder the state’s progress. He urged unity and collective effort to address these issues.
He also shared his observations on media coverage in Nagaland, pointing out that newspapers often focus on ultimatums and agitations rather than positive developments.
He urged the media to highlight the achievements and strengths of the Naga people instead of portraying them as chaotic. According to him, Nagas are honest, proud, and capable, and their problems should be resolved through dialogue and cooperation rather than through threats and ultimatums.
Along delved on the importance of building a strong and inclusive Nagaland, where both Nagas and non-Nagas contribute to its development. He called for a shift in mindset, encouraging young people to work hard and aim for leadership roles in government services such as the IAS and IFS.
He expressed concern over the lack of senior bureaucrats in Nagaland, as many IAS officers are nearing retirement, and urged the youth to fill these leadership gaps.
He also spoke about the importance of education beyond mere certification, advising students to focus on acquiring knowledge and skills. He reminded them that corruption is not inherent in government systems and that change begins with the people themselves.
He encouraged the youth to vote responsibly and work hard to achieve their aspirations, whether through NPSC, NSSB, or UPSC exams. The minister also criticized the growing number of unions in the state, arguing that they often serve narrow interests rather than the collective good.
He praised past leaders for their aspirations for Nagaland’s progress but lamented that the present generation has become increasingly fragmented and narrow-minded. He called upon the youth to aim for higher positions in India’s central services to bring Nagaland into the national spotlight.
He also acknowledged the role of EduVersity Plus in providing quality education and urged leaders to protect the institution from illegal taxation. Expressing concerns about the employment situation, he noted that many Naga youths end up in menial jobs outside the state. To counter this trend, he advocated for fostering entrepreneurship and sports talent within Nagaland.
Co-Founder and CEO of EduVersity Plus, P.J. Nayak, spoke about the institution’s journey since its establishment in 2021. He reiterated its commitment to offering high-quality educational resources to students.

He further announced that admissions for the March batch of their eight-month coaching program are open, with a discounted fee of Rs. 25,000. This program covers comprehensive coaching for the preliminary, mains, and interview stages of competitive exams.
