The National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Elderline–14567 Nagaland, celebrated its 4th anniversary on September 28 at its office located in C.K Office Complex, Kohima.
The programme was chaired by Elderline Connect Leader, Kevitsonuo Shüya, and began with an invocation prayer led by Kanili Lohe, Children Pastor, SABCK. Program Manager, Akali Sema, in her address, called for greater public awareness of Elderline services to ensure improved care and support for senior citizens.
Highlighting the helpline’s role, she informed that Elderline–14567, a toll-free number operated by the State Social Welfare Department, functions daily from 8 am to 8 pm. She said the helpline aims to connect with senior citizens and promote healthy ageing through compassionate service and timely intervention.
Sema further shared that the Elderline Connect Centre has received 6,357 calls till August 2025, facilitated over 500 Senior Citizen Cards, and assisted 28 destitute elderly persons with placement in Old Age Homes.
The programme concluded with brief remarks from IT Leader, Lesel Neikha, and Call Officer, Rokono Tetso, reaffirming the team’s commitment to serving the elderly with dignity and care.
