Election department has issued notification regarding the conduct of a bye-election for the 43-Tapi (ST) Assembly Constituency. In a notification, the department said the Election Commission, in pursuance of Sec 150, 30, and 56 of the RP Act, 1951, has issued the following directives– the 43-Tapi (ST) A/C is called upon to elect a new representative belonging to the Scheduled Tribe of the State to fill the vacant legislative seat.
The election is scheduled to be conducted on or before December 5, 2023, per the provisions of the Representation of the People Act and the relevant rules and orders, it said. The last date for making nominations is October 20, 2023 and scrutiny of nominations will be scrutinized on October 21.
The last date for the withdrawal of candidatures is October 23. If necessary, a poll shall be conducted on November 7 and the election shall be completed on or before December 5. The hours during which the poll shall be conducted, if necessary, on the specified date are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
