DIMAPUR: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima, has announced the publication of the Draft Electoral Roll 2026 for constituencies under Kohima district in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Photo Electoral Rolls.
The constituencies covered include Western Angami, Kohima Town, Northern Angami I & II, and Southern Angami I & II. The rolls have been prepared with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. Citizens may inspect the draft rolls at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and at polling stations during office hours. Claims for inclusion or objections to entries must be submitted on or before October 20, 2026, using Form 6 with Annexure IV (Declaration Form), Form 7, or Form 8. The list of claims and objections will be displayed on the notice boards of the EROs and Election Branch, and also made available on the CEO Nagaland website. The notice was issued by B. Henok Buchem, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima.
Similarly, Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Chümoukedima, has announced the publication of the Draft Electoral Rolls 2026 for 4 Ghaspani I and 5 Ghaspani II Assembly Constituencies on September 20, in connection with the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Photo Electoral Rolls 2026.
According to the notice, the rolls have been prepared with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date and are available for inspection at the offices of the respective Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and at polling stations during office hours. Electors may file claims for inclusion or objections to entries on or before October 20, 2026, using Form 6, Form 7, or Form 8. Notices were issued by T. Lemlila Sangtam, ERO for 4 Ghaspani I, and P. James Swu, ERO for 5 Ghaspani II. The list of claims and objections will also be displayed on the CEO Nagaland website and at ERO offices.
Meanwhile, the Draft Electoral Roll for Wokha district was published on September 20 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by Assistant Election Officer, Kulo Khromi, who presented a detailed highlight of the SIR exercise.
To enhance voter accessibility, rationalisation of polling stations was carried out, with three new polling stations created in constituencies where voter strength exceeded 1,200. These included Koio II and Tsungiki IV under 37 Tyui AC, and Yimpang II under 40 Bhandari AC.
The period for filing claims and objections runs from September 20 to October 20, 2026, while the notice phase of disposal will continue until November 18, 2026. A total of 50,040 electors are expected to undergo notice and hearing during this phase. The final publication of the electoral roll, with reference to October 1, 2026, has been scheduled for November 22, 2026.
The Special Intensive Revision aims to ensure that all eligible citizens are included and that electoral rolls remain accurate and updated ahead of future elections.
