Elimination of violence against women program

Zeliangrong Mipui Organization Nagaland (ZMON), in collaboration with Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW), organized a program in view of the fortnight’s observation on elimination of violence against women, under the theme, “End gender-based violence in the world of work”, on November 30 at Peren Town, PTWWO Hall.

A press release from ZMON general secretary, Aluile Hegui stated that ADC Peren, Sarita Yadav, graced the program as guest of honor which hundreds of women attended. She exhorted and inspired the women and girls to rise up and avail all opportunities and rights given to them in different areas. In the eyes of the law, both boys and girls are equal she added. Sarita maintained that women or girls should no longer remain passively silent and be discriminated against and victimized, but she urged them to move forward to face challenges and report their grievances to the nearest internal complaint committees which are available in every office. She also asserted that the district administration was ever ready to extend help and cooperation in the interest of justice.
The program was chaired by treasurer ZMON, Kiheido, invocation was offered by advisor ZMON, Kiheiyile, introductory remark by was given by president ZMON, Apeuna Iheilung, special number was presented by Samlamyising and Co., concluding remark was delivered by auditor ZMON, Ahaule Lunggalang, while benediction by was said by ZMON vice president, Alungle.
