Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) in collaboration with Nagaland state designated agency for energy conservation Kohima organised inter-collegiate elocution competition on “energy conservation” on November 30 at DBCK campus, wherein 12 colleges of Kohima district participated.
While delivering his keynote address, chief electrical inspector NSDA, Kohima, Er. I. V. Chishi stressed on saving energy. He urged that when not required, artificial lights should be switched off and God’s given light be used. He also asked them to go for CFL or LED bulbs.
During the programme, Dr. Imtinaro Longkumer was the moderator. The judges for the competition were NSDA, Meyimenl, journalist Eastern Mirror, Nedilhoutuo Neibu Sechii, and vice president ANCSU, Benjong Longchar. Yinjun C. Naam of Kohima Science College was adjudged the first position; Vesül? Rhakho of Don Bosco College Kohima as second; and Milepo Vese of Model Christian College as third. Consolation prizes were awarded to Sanglekhamba of Japfü Christian College, Neipukhrienuo Pieny? of Baptist College, and Ghukrloli S. C Sumi of Kros College.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant professor DBCK, Jarani Mao, invocation by SDB, Fr. Alexander Manayil, welcome speech by convener, Dr. Velhou Koza and songs by Bosco music society. The college hall was decorated by the fine arts club of DBCK while volunteers for the programme were initiated by rovers and rangers of DBCK.
