Nagaland: Eloe Ekhung Wokha village holds general conference, volleyball tourney

The Eloe Ekhung of Wokha village organised its annual general conference cum volleyball tournament on December 15 under the theme “Create Opportunity to Make a Momentum,” with the objective of rejuvenating and strengthening the women of the village.
The programme was graced by Mhalo Yanthan, women leader of Tchuphyangza Baptist Church, Wokha, who delivered the theme address. In her speech, she underscored the pivotal role of women in shaping families and society, noting that women guided by faith often demonstrate greater wisdom and leadership.
Highlighting the broader significance of sports, Yanthan said that games today extend beyond competition, serving as a platform for recreation, relationship-building, and fostering unity by setting aside personal differences. Stressing the importance of honesty, she remarked that integrity in sports and daily life is vital for personal and social growth. She further encouraged participants to rise above negativity, promote one another, and work collectively for the progress and development of society through love, unity and friendship.
The oath of the tournament was administered by General Secretary of the Wokha District Volleyball Association (WDVA), Lichumi Ngullie.
Altogether, six women’s teams from Wokha village are participating in the tournament, with the finals scheduled to be held on December 16.
