Emergency medical evacuation and air ambulance in place

A co-ordination meeting among Air Charter Service led by captain Raja Tarun, Chopper Medical Evacuation Team, district health officials led by chief medical officer (CMO) and State nodal health officer from Directorate of Health and Family Welfare was held at CMO’s office chamber Dimapur on February 25.
A press release issued by additional director and OSD (Health) to CEO, Dr. C Tetrseo informed that chopper service for emergency medical evacuation within the state has been in place since February 17 and Air ambulance for patient evacuation outside the state is also in place from February 24 till March 2 midnight.
The members discussed about strategy to deal with any emergency situation where air evacuation of poll personnel may be required. The release informed that the state government has made elaborate arrangements for all poll personnel and in this regard, government hospitals, military hospitals and private hospitals in the state and some outside the state were empaneled for cashless treatments.
