Empanelled hospitals to stop PM-JAY, CMHIS from Feb 15

DEMANDS APOLOGY FROM NHPS FOR DAMAGING THEIR REPUTATION

In a major development, the Nagaland Private Doctors’ Association (NPDA) has announced that private hospitals would halt services under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) from February 15 until all pending claims were settled. This was resolved at an emergency meeting of the association held on Saturday.

Further, NPDA in a statement issued by its president Dr. Lima Imchen and general secretary Dr Mhasiseno T Belho, demanded that the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) must issue an apology for damaging the reputation of Empanelled health care providers (EHCPs), besides declaring that no new agreements concerning EHCPs would be signed without the association’s approval.

The association strongly criticised the NHPS and Future Generali Insurance (FGI) for failing to honour the terms of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with EHCPs, accusing them of misleading the public and unjustly blaming doctors and healthcare institutions.

It may be noted that the State Health & Family Welfare minister P. Paiwang Konyak during the review meeting held on Friday, took note of the glitches with regard to Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS)/Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPM-JAY).

The minister directed health officials to convene a meeting immediately with the insurance company and private doctors’ association to sort out the matter for smooth implementation of the schemes.
