ENLU to meet Central leaders in Delhi; ENPO calls for meeting on March 19

Members of the Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union (ENLU) will be leaving for Delhi on Friday to meet the union minister Amit Shah and officials of the home ministry in connection with Frontier Nagaland Territory.

Sources said that around 17-18 legislators will be leaving for Delhi to meet Shah as well as advisor (NE) AK Mishra, who also heads the three-member MHA committee constituted by the Centre to study the demand of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization.

Earlier, the Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) had issued an ultimatum directing the Rajya Sabha MP and all 20 elected members of Eastern Nagaland to reach Tuensang Hq within 36 hours effective from March 12 6 p.m. till March 14 12 noon to attend a joint coordination meeting.

However, ENPO, in a circular dated March 14, informed that the meeting had been postponed in view of ENLU members travel to Delhi.

In this regard, ENPO has convened the meeting on March 19 at CKS Hall, Tuensang. ENPO has asked the following to attend the meeting positively– Rajya Sabha MP, 20 elected members of Eastern Nagaland, House of 13th NLA- ENLU chairman and secretary, ENGOA president along with eight members, talk team, ENPO advisors and former ENPO, ENWO and ENSF presidents.

Meanwhile, ENPO and its frontal organizations have decided to continue the “public emergency” declared earlier this week.
